The redevelopment of the Udny Arms Hotel in Newburgh site continues. With the hotel nearing completion – and looking great – an area of open space just outside the adjacent coffee shop has been developed to accommodate two ‘pop-up’ retail pods. This is to capitalise on the additional footfall generated by the very popular Trellis Coffee Shop, and provides the opportunity for local makers and retailers to display and sell their products.

The project has been supported by a Coastal Communities Challenge Fund grant from the Council, who agreed that enhancing activity here would create a space that could become a new ‘village square’ where people could meet, socialise and shop. The open space will be complemented by landscaping in due course to create a meaningful area of public realm right in the heart of the village.
