This project involved the refurbishment and extension of this classical Category B listed granite building which dates from 1858-9 into a vibrant and luxurious city centre hotel, restaurant and special occasion venue. To meet the requirement for additional accommodation, the building was extended vertically, with bedrooms added over the grand ballroom, and new dormer windows formed over Market Street.

 

Further additional accommodation was created over several floors to the rear of the original building and a terrace has been installed outside where guests can relax with a drink in warm weather. The Rox hotel’s interior oozes contemporary style with Turkish marble floors and designer glass staircases and balustrades.
